Weinstein Co./Dimension’s Horror Film Polaroid Moves to 2018
The Weinstein Co./Dimension Films horror film Polaroid has moved from Thanksgiving weekend to an unspecified date in 2018
The upcoming Weinstein Co./Dimension Films horror film Polaroid was originally set to open during the summer. The film was recently moved from August 25, 2017 to Thanksgiving weekend, with a November 22 opening day. Now, the horror flick is being taken off this year’s list of films and moved to an unspecified date in 2018, according to Deadline.
From the producers of the The Ring and The Grudge and based on the award-winning short by Lars Klevberg, comes the next iconic and bold new vision in horror: Polaroid. High school loner Bird Fitcher has no idea what dark secrets are tied to the mysterious Polaroid vintage camera she stumbles upon, but it doesn’t take long to discover that those who have their picture taken meet a tragic end. The story mixes elements of The Ring and Final Destination to create one of the most unique and scary films of the year.
Polaroid stars Kathryn Prescott (Finding Carter, To the Bone), Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files, Basic Instinct), Grace Zabriskie (The Grudge, Gone in Sixty Seconds), Tyler Young (Eyewitness, When We Rise), Keenan Tracey (Bates Motel, The 100), Samantha Logan (The Fosters, 13 Reasons Why), Priscilla Quintana (Stranded, Masters of Sex), Madelaine Petsch (Riverdale, The Curse of Sleeping Beauty) and Javier Botet (Mama, IT).
Polaroid is directed by Lars Klevberg (The Wall, Kong Vinter II) and written by Blair Butler (Attack of the Show, Slasher School). The film is produced by Roy Lee and Chris Bender.
